PETALING JAYA: A Christmas eve date ended in a nightmare for a hairstylist and his girlfriend when a group of men armed with machetes ambushed them in a mall carpark and fled with RM4,000 from his pocket and the pair’s mobile phones.
Darren Lee, 26, said he and his girlfriend, 24, who only wanted to be known as Lee, had just left a Christmas eve party at the Sunway Pyramid at about 4am on Tuesday when they were waylaid by seven motorcycle riders, who were all armed, in the car park.
“We feared for our lives. They were were really rough,” said Lee, adding that the mob pushed and shoved them and demanded that they surrender their money and valuables.
“They threatened to abduct my girlfriend if I did not hand over all my cash,” Lee told reporters here yesterday.
“I gave the RM4,000 I had, as well as our mobile phones.”
Lee said the culprits sped off on their bikes after the robbery. “It happened so fast,” he said.
Lee then pressed the I-Alert button at the carpark.
Security guards who arrived at the scene within a minute helped Lee and his girlfriend lodge a police report at the Bandar Sunway police station.
Meanwhile, the mall’s chief operating officer Kevin Tan said security would be stepped up in light of the incident.
“It is unfortunate the group of motorcyclists had tresspassed into our parking area after the mall was closed.
“With the New Year coming, our security officers will be more alert and vigilant,” he said yesterday.
“We are committed towards ensuring the safety of our customers... this incident is an isolated case,” he said.
Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahya Jamil confirmed the incident.

Almost got robbed this morning at Jalan SS4B/2, Kelana Jaya

I just got in my car this morning around 9am which parked outside my house, not yet started my car engine and 1 white color Proton Preve stop beside my car. 2 Indians came out from the car, 1 of them holding a hammer smashed my front passenger window. He instructed me to get out from the car. He then searching through my car and the other just standing looking around. I managed to run to the main road in front my house and luckily got 2 passing by car willing to stop. They noticed and ran back to their car and drive off.

At the end, they did not take anything. It is weird but I consider myself lucky. Please be aware of that whilte color Proton Preve, I can't memorize the car plate number but it should be something started with 9*9*.

Con men at LRT Station

shared by Yu Yong Poh

Last Friday i met a guy at Universiti LRT station. First he asked me if I could understand English. THen hE said he lost his $$, needed some $$ to travel back to Ipoh (if not mistaken). He asked if I could give him some $$. I said what I could help was to help him to report to the management and police. Then he said it's ok. He had done it so. Then he said he could still take LRT to KL central to meet the police again (?!?) and left me.

Who knows, Monday I met him again. I think he could not recognize me. He asked me again, "can you understand English?".. This time I just shook my head and said "apa lu cakap". Afterthat he just walked away.

Please take care of all these scams. It can happen anytime, anywhere...

House Break In at Lembah Keramat

My in-laws' house was broken in yesterday while they were out for a 3-day trip. They kept the lights on in front, back and 2nd floor of the house, and also had a car parked in the porch to make it look like someone is at home.
Robber came in thru the FRONT window at the porch, broke the grill (forceful push, I think), and got away with my in-law's fake jewelry.

Another Road Con man Incident

shared by Jamie S Lim

My in-laws who are in their 70s were the latest victims of road crime in KL yesterday (29/12). We believed their car was tempered by a crook in OUG. Then, the crook tailed by in-laws all the way to KL and flagged them about their car 'problem'. The crook believed to be dark skin identified himself as a 'mechanic' and offered to 'fix' the car. He said the brake had worn off and the car must be fixed on the spot. My in-laws refused help but he still demanded money from them. After that, my in-laws called us and the crook fled the scene. Our family mechanic inspected the car and he told us that the car had been intentionally tempered with. My in-laws could have met with an accident, injured or worst killed! We really couldn't comprehend such malicious act from a human being to knowingly harm another human being for monetary gain! We can no longer feel safe living in this country! Can you blame so many Malaysians who have renounced their citizenships and left this country for a another (safer) country?

Tmn Megah / Around MienTien Foodcourt Crime Marathon Non Stop

shared by Matthew Liow

Recently, I was a victim of car break-in theft which happened at Ming Tien Foodcourt at Taman Megah on 28/11/12. Only a bag with non-valuable content was stolen. It was past midnight at that time, and also past heavy rain.

The theft broke the glass. If I had installed a motion sensor, the theft would activate t

he car alarm. The car alarm only work when someone try to force open a car door.

Made a police report at Kelana Jaya Police Station. People-in-uniforms were professional in their work. I overheard that he called two of his colleagues-on-petrol to check the area. And they took a photo of the broken glass. Also did a friendly chat with police there. Really nice people.

I was hesitate not to report to police since non-valuable items were stolen. I went instead just to make a report so that our government know what to do with the statistics.

PJ New Town Snatch Thief

shared by Anita Sharma
Just experienced this at 11am in PJ New Town 30/11/2012.

Just parked on the road behind Poh Kong and was getting down when a Chinese lady screamed that her bag is being snatched 20m away from me. As I looked at her, the brown skinned loned rider just zoomed past me & i couldn't do anything to help her (honestly wouldn't know what to do too!)

The n

umber plate on bike was broken. The lady kept running on the back lane chasing the bike but long gone for sure.

I met her near tnb office a few minutes later n asked if she was ok but she was badly shaken by the incident. Me who witnessed it was trembling for a long, long time.

She said she was carrying lots of cash as withdrew salary for the boss to pay out.

Most likely she was marked from the bank she went to and was followed.

It's really scary as at time of incident it was only us 3 there! What if the lady wasn't there??

Please stay on high alert at all times...

School Children Robbed of School Bag - Kelana Jaya

shared by Joyce Ho

Hi just want to share with you
Even school girl & school bag are not spared from robbers!

Our daughter was robbed at knife point this evening.
Location : Jalan SS7/4, Kelana Jaya,

Two Malay men riding on motorbike turned into our street as Nadia was walking towards our house (only a 50m walk), after being dropped off by the school bus.
They did not even bother to mask their faces! The pillon rider demanded for her school bag.
Despite her telling them there were only books in there, they wanted her school bag. Pointed the knife to her neck! She gave them her school bag.

Our daughter is extremely traumatized by this senseless experience and to compound the matter, all her exams notes are in the schoolbag.

Thank God she is unhurt physically.
STAB BY MOTORCYCLIST, Looking for the GOOD SAMARITAN
Hey everyone, If you are staying in my place& not Prepared to be MURDERED then I'd appreciate it if you take a little of your time to read this. Please bare in mind that this is very crucial and your action might help save someone's live.

I'm sharing this on behalf of my best friend (Yee Yeng)'s mom. On the 25th of November; at about 3pm, Yee Yeng was stabbed from the back with a KNIFE by a moto
rcyclist when she was on her way walking towards her mom's shop at Southern Park.

Lucky enough that she is tough to withstand the pain and made it to her mom's shop. According to the information provided by their neighbor, one of the house owner ran out to chase the motorcyclist away and tried to stop him. Okay, I'm going to make my point clear by seeking all your help to share this status around to find out who's the kind-hearted owner; so that we could thank him/her. PLEASE help to ask around the area (Ban Li, STAR, La Salle school, Chicken Rice Shop and housing area). If you have any clues on who that kind person is or if you witnessed the incident, please contact Yee Yeng's mom at 016-699 5886.

However, fret not! Yee Yeng is now safe after undergoing a lung operation. She's now hospitalized in Sri Kota hospital. She will be discharged from ICU room to a normal room tomorrow (hopefully all the conditions are in favor of her).

Finally, PLEASE SHARE THIS STATUS AROUND TO STOP SUCH CRUEL ACT FROM HAPPENING TO ANYONE. Stay safe!
