Everyone wants the MRT Project BUT Who is RESPONSIBLE???

shared by Lucy Gan

At about 9pm yesterday Sunday i was traveling towards damansara heights fr bandar Utama through TTDI just pass the shell petrol station in TTDI there is a large pothole more than 2 meter long on the road on the fast lane. Many cars hit the holes and have a burst tyre. How can we allow such negligence or unsafe place. I then notice at least 10 cars are parked on the left hand side of the road to change tyres. This morning I took my car to my car mechanic and I met someone who faces the same problem. My damages are 2 burst tyres plus plus costing more than a $1000.00 . Who to blame.? This gentleman And me take turns to call MRT toll free line and MRT asked to call MMC and MMC asked to call GAMUDA project manager who is doing the construction and GAMUDA asked to call MUDAJAYA director who has the power to compensate you. We both spent the whole day getting nowhere. Even more stressful then changing tyres. What kind or crab country is this when we are paying so much in taxes and yet what we get is pot holes. Just look at other countries like Uk,USA ,Europe ,Singapore ,Taiwan Hong Kong even Indonesia do not have pot holes and humps all over our roads. I am really ashamed to live here. The safety of the public is greatly in danger with this irresponsible construction going on.this is a night mare. Can someone help, pls

MyWatch chief: Cop threatened to shoot me

http://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2013/01/29/mywatch-chief-cop-threatened-to-shoot-me/

PETALING JAYA: A policeman from the Jelebu police headquarters allegedly threatened to shoot the chairman of anti-crime watchdog MyWatch early this morning, minutes after he informed Bukit Aman of illegal gambling outlets operating in the area.
R Sri Sanjeevan told FMT he had been staking out the illegal gambling outlets in Simpang Pertang alone, waiting for the district police to act on his tip off, when he received a threatening call at 3.43am from a Malay man.
According to Sanjeevan’s police report, the man had demanded in Malay: “who are you, are you drunk, why did you call Bukit Aman, do you think we don’t know what we are doing? I want you to leave that area or I will go there and arrest you or shoot you.”
When Sanjeevan asked who the man was, he allegedly replied: “I am a police officer from IPD Jelebu! If you have the guts, come to IPD Jelebu now!”
Sanjeevan said he immediately called Bukit Aman and was told that the information would be passed on to the Negeri Sembilan contingent police headquarters.
But no response came and Sanjeevan lodged a police report at 4.55am at the Jelebu district police headquarters over the matter.
“The investigating officer confirmed that the number [from the death threat] belongs to IPD Jelebu,” Sanjeevan told FMT.
“So they are narrowing it down and will charge the perpetrator for criminal intimidation. I doubt the case will stick, but the public needs to know that police give death threats as well.”
Sanjeevan said he was certain the man who issued the death threat was a police officer intent on protecting the illegal gambling outlets there, which he said had been operating for two years.
“It was just a four minute difference [from when I informed the police about the outlets]. Within four minutes, I get a threatening call. So who do you think it is?”
Police protecting illegal gambling outlets
Sanjeevan explained that he had gone undercover at 2.50am as a customer of the outlets based on information he received from a source.
“I have been getting complaints too often [over the illegal gambling outlets and] have relayed it to police but they failed so I went down personally,” he told FMT.
“Too many families getting ruined because of this gambling here and too many fights here too,” he said
But Sanjeevan said that despite calling Bukit Aman and the Negeri Sembilan police contingent headquarters multiple times as he staked out the area for over an hour, all he received in return was a death threat.
“I called Bukit Aman first because I thought if the order comes from there, they would act faster. From there, the order would go to the Contingent Control Centre, then to the District Control Centre,” explained Sanjeevan.
But just as he was about to leave the area at 4.15 am to lodge a report over the death threat, he said he spotted three policemen at the entrance of the illegal gambling outlets, smoking and speaking to the staff there.
“They didn’t bother to act or arrest anyone there. I noticed [a] total [of] 15 shops operating as illegal gambling outlets entrance at the back lane,” Sanjeevan had written in his police report.
He told FMT that there was no reason for the police to hesitate in raiding the area or even wait to gather further information as the outlets were clearly operating illegally.
“I urge the Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar to investigate this matter and I strongly believe officers in IPD Jelebu are protecting the illegal gambling outlets here by not taking action against them,” he said.

28 Jan 2012 (Mon) Happy Garden, Kuchai Lama

A spate of incidents at my home in Happy Garden, Kuchai Lama in the last 3 months have left my family and I having absolutely no doubts that with the exception of our politicians and VIPS who have their coterie of bodyguards & entourage & living in LaLa Land, no one in Malaysia is safe from crime.

1st incident was around midnight in mid-November when the perpetrator(s) managed to open the sliding grilles to my house, but the alarm sent them packing. Nothing was taken. 2nd incident was around 4am in mid-December, this time the perp prised open the downstairs window & even took out some screws from the grille in an attempt to get in. Again, the bugger made a run when the alarm went off. A report was lodged this time and mention was also made of the 1st incident.

3rd incident was this past Saturday at around 9am (anytime is a good time it seems). No one was in at that time. The perp(s) prised open the wooden gate and also picked open one of the clamp & lock to the sliding grille. The alarm saved the day again but this time, a neighbor saw 3 Chinese in their early 30's leaving in a dark color BMW bearing registration WTW 68. Police report was lodged and the registration number proved to be false.

4th incident happened probably just before dawn on Monday when the perp(s) broke the left side front & rear windows to my car which was parked in the porch. There are signs of forced entry on the car but they left without taking anything form the car. They could have been trying to steal the car of may have been looking for the house keys. A report was lodged as well.

Except for a brief visit by the I/O after the 1st report, no copper bothered to come by the house to follow up in the other incidents. Too busy going after opposition politicians & students I suppose...

Stay safe & be alert always!!

No Free Drinks Brother

shared by Nathan ShivaLiew

sometime back in 2008, before the pudu raya bus station got renovated, i took a bus from a reputable bus company there during a festive season. Sat down in my seat, then a man with drinks/food that had festive greeting prints on it came aboard and started to distribute to all the passengers. i was seated a the back so i could see what's going on. no money was exchanged, everyone graciously accepted and started to drink. i took one packet too but sensed something was amiss so i adopted the wait and see method. then he went back to the front of the bus to collect payment for the drinks. everyone was shocked but soon realized they got conned and got charged exorbitantly, rm2 for a packet drink. i returned the unopened drink back to him, he took it back without saying anything and went away. most of the passengers thought it was the bus company's customer loyalty reward. urging all to be aware of this tactic and be careful at all times.

By the time she returned home maybe 20mins or so, she saw her son's scirocco was driven away, wondering where her son went so early morning. And the BMW was parked in front her house and sped off the moment she opened the auto gate. Once she entered the house compound, only to find out the gate was cut open and the house was broke into.

Lady attacked by 4 men

shared by Sun Siew Cheong

Happened in Ara Damansara on 13/Jan/2013 at 10:30pm.

My neighbor was robbed while on the way home around 10:30pm on 13/Jan/2013. Another car knocked her car from behind inside Ara Damansara. She got down and out came 4 dark-skinned men. They grabbed her hair; put a strangle-hold on her, dragged her and even beat her on the head with a metal pole. She put up a struggle and perhaps it was a busy intersection, the robbers left in their own vehicle. All the while, her 2 children were in the car. She lost her phone and require stitches on 2 locations on the head. Knees were bruised when dragged. Thank God she was not seriously hurt and the children were unharmed.

Reminder not to get down from vehicle when knocked from behind, especially at night. Safer to drive to the nearest police station. And be vigilant at all times.

Petty Thief at Ara Damansara - 13/1/13

Thanks to my family dogs bark and kept us alert. Incident happened approximately half past eleven p.m. at Embun, Ara Damansara. Three dark skinned male motorcyclists. Two keeping an eye, one with parang went towards the stout & tall sugarcane plants at our backyard. My dad was first to went out telling them next time to seek permission before taking away other's plant. Those guys then hurriedly chopped down two mature sugarcane stalk before heading off towards another backlane. Within minutes as they were about to leave with more fresh stalks, another resident near our neighborhood stopped them. According to the other resident, the group also cut off his sugarcane plants and told them to get the owner's consent. When ask where the group got the other stalks from, they lied that they already got our permission. Coincidentally, this was the second time both our plants are being taken away without our knowledge and once the resident even saw a man jumping over the 5ft. high fencing bordering the neighborhood houses. Though these does not cost much, one day they might commit other offenses. Please be mindful and the more we are aware soon these opportunist will find that they are barking up the wrong tree

Isn't wasnt too long that I realized it was gone. I reported to the shop manager, the management of Paradigm Mall and also lodged a report to the police at KJ. After lodging the police report, I went back to Paradigm but the manager said that I cant watch the cctv footage without the presence of a police. But the manager said he can watch it on my behalf. Cctv wasn't much of a help. He said he couldnt see much. Apparently, there were 2 other cases at the same time in h&m as well. So pls be aware of ur surroundings. These people are getting better at this. And I hope the security at malls are better so everyone can feel safe and shop peacefully. Just thought of sharing this to all of u.

for SEA Park & Paramount Garden drivers

Traffic Lights Alert shared by Wang Ie Ian

for SEA Park & Paramount Garden drivers

Hope this is relevant to be posted here. For residents of Sea Park (Section 21) and Paramount who constantly travel on Jalan 21/27 and Jalan 21/25 heading to the traffic light cross junction (straight to Taman Bahagia LRT, right to SS2, left to SS1) in front of SMK Taman Sea, please be careful. The constantly green light (marked with Red arrow) you see from afar heading towards the junction is NOT for your junction, it is actually located further down the road in front of SMK Taman Sea. Due to the alignment, it creates an optical illusion that it is your lights when you're coming from Jalan 21/35, and god knows what will happen if you speed out onto the junction before realizing it's not your light. Traffic from all directions are very fast, especially from the main road of Jalan SS 2/24, as its a downhill. The traffic lights for Jalan 21/25 is actually hidden by a tree (marked with the Black arrow), and is not noticeable until you come to a complete stop at the junction. I have seen a few cars emergency braking at the junction with half the car's head already out onto the busy cross junction before realizing its still a red and slowly reversing.

Damansara Uptown Bogus Security Guard

Last week while I was having lunch with my colleague at damansara uptown, same row with this Village Park , there's this one skinny guy called my colleague aunty and asked for RM3 for lunch, he claimed that he's a security guard. He had this fluorescent vest with the word SECURITY printed on it, but not wearing it and asked us not to be afraid. We ignored him. He went and approached another woman, and to my surprise, that woman bought his story and gave him RM3. Please be alert!

Fishy People at Paradigm Mall

I was at paradigm mall a week ago with my gf and we were sitting by the benches resting. As we sat there I noticed these two Chinese ladies who looked like they were in their 20-s both wearing high heels and one of them is fair and the other relatively dark in skin color walked pass us and they looked as if they were looking for someone. Moments later the same couple approached my gf and spoke mandarin and asked if she is still studying and asked if she was interested in a freelance job. Both of us being bananas couldn't really understand what she said. We said we were not interested but she kept insisting to exchange phone numbers. The lady who has a darker skin color was more dominant than the other lady. She kept instructing the other girl to get my gf's number after repeatedly saying we didn't want to. In the end my gf decided to take down HER number instead and said we will contact her if she needs the job. The more dominant lady again insisted we give her a missed call just in case our 'friends' might want a freelance Job. She finally gave up and walked away angrily and dragged her other friend with her.

I'm not sure if they have any good intentions or are they just some conmen. My question is, if they are desperate for freelancers, why would they come to a shopping mall and hunt for one? Why were they so desperate to get my gf's phone number? And why didn't they have any name cards whatsoever with them?

Has anyone encountered such a scenario?

Art School Student Scam ??

shared by Jaycee Cheah

I had an encounter a few months ago from a couple of "students" claiming "charity" for their so called art academy, this was in KL, just opposite lot 10... Right next to monorail station escalator. Me and my tourist friend was stopped and they make small conversation. "hi, welcome to malaysia, are you Korean...etcetc"

They approach potential "tourist" and tell u their sob story about struggling in a art school, they need to sell keychains/magnets for 10 to 30 myr to support their cause.

They used a overly photocopied form over and over again that they use to write your details down, the details on the paper is unclear and state the amount to donate as the "minimum amount" for their cause. I saw some names in their list with the minimum payments of 30myr!!

When I asked what school they were with, they just said "art school in KL" and divert topic! They would not explain entirely and properly.

It was a rip off cuz they approached us to donate a minimum amount and one of the girls threw a fit when my tourist friend didnt want to donate the minimum amount, instead she said "eeyyer why you don't want to help me... Grumbles!" anyway, both of us gave her rm5 just to shut her up and walked away. Just felt cheated and annoyed!

Both of us found that appalling as I was a Malaysian, seeing what the youth of today was doing to our tourists friends makes me feel utterly disgusted!

Beware, they look like artistic dressed up students, chinese (unfortunately) they come occasionally cause I noticed them on several occasions. I avoided that path nowadays because I do not want to get conned again!

Another Road Con man Incident

OUG

shared by Jamie S Lim

My in-laws who are in their 70s were the latest victims of road crime in KL yesterday (29/12). We believed their car was tempered by a crook in OUG. Then, the crook tailed by in-laws all the way to KL and flagged them about their car 'problem'. The crook believed to be dark skin identified himself as a 'mechanic' and offered to 'fix' the car. He said the brake had worn off and the car must be fixed on the spot. My in-laws refused help but he still demanded money from them. After that, my in-laws called us and the crook fled the scene. Our family mechanic inspected the car and he told us that the car had been intentionally tempered with. My in-laws could have met with an accident, injured or worst killed! We really couldn't comprehend such malicious act from a human being to knowingly harm another human being for monetary gain! We can no longer feel safe living in this country! Can you blame so many Malaysians who have renounced their citizenships and left this country for a another (safer) country?
