Eight robbery suspects, fences collared in police raids

December 29, 2012
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 29 — Eight men aged between 17 and 44 have been arrested for allegedly being involved in several robberies and buying stolen goods since September.
Dang Wangi police chief ACP Zainuddin Ahmad said the police seized two machetes, two motorcycles and cigarettes from the gang in raids in Keramat, Sri Alam, Shah Alam and Sungai Besi on Wednesday.
“Five of them robbery suspects while the other three were buyers of stolen goods. We are also looking for three others. We believe at least nine robberies in the Klang Valley had been solved with the arrests,” he said here, yesterday.
He said the suspects had been remanded until December 31 to help in investigations into the cases.
Meanwhile, a 42-year-old man who tried to escape a police inspection at Persiaran Jubli, Jalan Loke Yew here, on Thursday, was nabbed, and the police found a pistol and drugs in his car. — Bernama
