Lorry attendants get eight years in prison for robbery

PETALING JAYA, Feb 20 – Four lorry cleaners, including two brothers, were sentenced to eight years in prison after they found guilty by the Sessions Court here today for armed gang robbery of a businessman.
Judge Suraiya Mustafa Kamal sentenced M.Ramaesh, 23, Muhammad Ridzuan Shanmugam, 24, S. Premkumar, 23, and his brother S. Muniandy, 21, after the prosecution proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
The four, armed with machetes, robbed Hue Chong Fong, 32, of a backpack containing some gold, two branded watches and some cash, at 3am on Aug 20, 2012 at Jalan Subang, Sungai Buloh here.
Deputy public prosecutor Ching Kian Chun prosecuted while all the accused were unrepresented. – Bernama
