SEREMBAN: Although she is only a cleaner, that did not stop robbers from targeting her several times.
In the latest incident last week, she was attacked at the women's toilet of a wet market here.
Liao Ah Gui, 68, said she was cleaning the toilet at Pasar Besar Seremban at about 5.30pm on Friday when a robber hit her head with a hard object from behind.
She was later found unconscious by a passer-by, who spotted bloodstains outside the toilet.
“I could not see who hit me. When I regained consciousness, I was already lying on the hospital bed. I only had about RM100 with me. Why did he still hit me?” she said in between sobs.
Liao said she had been robbed near the market several times before.
However, she could not give details because she was currently receiving treatment at the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital here.
Liao received stitches for three serious cuts on her head.
Meanwhile, both the Negri Sembilan Petty Traders Association and Pasar Besar Seremban Traders Welfare Association as well as state MCA Youth deputy chief Siow Koi Voon offered RM3,000 to anyone with information on the case.
Criminals, he added, would often target members of the public around noon at the market when most hawkers would have closed their shops and the area was relatively quiet.
