DUNGUN (Aug 13, 2013): A restaurant owner was found dead with shot wounds on the chest and shoulder at Kampung Cacar here today.

State Criminal Investigation Department head ACP K.Manoharan said the bloodied body of Mohamad Lutpi Mansor, 50, was found by a passer-by in front of his house at about 7.30am.

He said the victim was said to have left the premises at about 4.30am to deposit the previous day sale's collection at a bank in Bandar Dungun.

Police have not ruled out robbery as the motive because the victim's Toyota Hilux, with registration number CCL 5445, and wallet were missing, he told reporters here today.

However, he said, police found a certain amount of money in the pocket of the shirt the victim was wearing, believed to be the money which he had intended to deposit into the bank.

He said the body was then sent to Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) in Kuala Terengganu for a post mortem.

Manoharan believes that the victim was attacked by more than one person.

He also stated that the police had launched a manhunt for the suspects.

He urged witnesses and those with information on the incident to contact the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, a report on the post mortem conducted on the victim confirmed that he was shot with two bullets, which were lodged in the chest and left shoulder. – Bernama
