Fed up of reminding the public not to litter, a few quirky road signs have been spotted in Pahang and Terengganu with a more sarcastic message.

The signs also did not mention if one would be slapped with a hefty fine if they were caught red-handed for littering.

Facebook user Ardi Herman Mohd Mardzi posted a photo of a sign that said “Tak rasa bersalah ke? Buang sampah dari kenderaan” (Don’t you feel guilty throwing rubbish out from your car?)

Ardi felt it was a good way of reminding road-users not to litter and he hopes that the effort made by the Dungun City Council will bear fruit.

A similar photo was also posted by Blogger Aainaa-Nadirah who spotted the sign board by the Public Works Department (JKR) while travelling in Kuantan, Pahang.

However some felt the move may not be the right way to address the problem.

“If you are taught from young not to throw rubbish out of the car, then you won’t, but some parents just do not care and allow their children to do so even though it is wrong,” said another Facebook user Mohd Firdaus Ekram.
